Killzone 2 Pushed Back

Sonja | April 17, 2020August 26, 2020

During Playstation Day in Europe, Sony has revealed that they have pushed back Killzone 2 into early 2009. Playstation 3 gamers have to wait a little longer to get their hands on one of the most anticipated games on the system.

The development for Killzone 2 was rocky even before it started. The first Killzone was hyped as a Halo-killer but turned out to be a major disappointment with mediocre reviews.

Guerrilla Games, the developers of the series, took it upon themselves to improve the quality of the series with Killzone: Liberation for the PSP. Despite being a critical success, not many gamers had played the spin-off. Only a sequel of the original can turn the stigma around.

But the problem with sequels is that very few of them are able to do justice to the prequel without deviating from the plot and it remains to be seen how Killzone 2 will be different from other Pkv Games that have seen many sequels where none have been able to match the original.

Sony decided to up the ante for Killzone 2 when they revealed a computer-generated trailer for the game at E3 2005. The trailer was awe-inspiring with realistic graphics and life-like animation. It was so good that many questions if all of it can be done during real-time gameplay. The high expectations were set for Guerrilla Games to deliver on the impossible. Sony didn’t exactly help since they were wishy-washy over whether or not the footage was done in real-time.

Guerrilla Games had a lot of work to accomplish. The real Killzone 2 won’t be shown for another two years. Frustration began to mount for both Sony and Guerrilla Games. What was hyped as a system-selling title is nowhere on the radar. It doesn’t help that the Playstation was lacking in the game department at that time as well.

Killzone 2 finally debuted during E3 2007. The audience was wowed again with another great trailer. This time it was all done in real-time. Years of development has paid off for Guerrilla Games now that the stigma has been lessened. Killzone 2 was still at the earliest stages of development and there was still a lot of work to be done, however.

Killzone 2 disappeared from the spotlight once again. Although a release date was never announced, the game was expected to ship in the spring of 2008. As the time passed, Killzone 2 was nowhere in sight. In fact, news about the game has been scarce after the debut.

During an event at the end of 2007, Guerrilla Games finally revealed that they hoped to have a beta for Killzone 2 in the first half of 2008. Speculations were that the game will be shipped in September of 2008. However, rumors had begun to run rampant about Killzone 2 going over budget and needing more time.

These rumors turned out to be true as Killzone 2 is now slated to be release in February 2009. This is quite disheartening for fans, especially the latest spectacular footage that was shown along with the announcement. The agonizing wait for Killzone 2 will continue into next year.

Ten Great Retro RPGs

Sonja | April 15, 2020August 26, 2020

Ten Great Retro RPGs

The role-playing game (RPG) genre has gotten awfully crowded in the past few years which is why there are thousands of games that are now shifting to different genres of the games. If you are one such player looking for different games then you can try BandarQQ for that and explore different online and offline games. It could be that a new one is developed literally every week; of course, the best ones are the oldies, particularly on the consoles. While I would love to rank them in order of greatness, from one to 10, it’s impossible, so I suggest you play them all.

Lunar: Silver Star Story (Playstation)

Based on Lunar: Silver Star for Sega CD, this is my favorite “Japanese” RPG. It’s not that the story is unique — that couldn’t be further from the truth — but it’s how well the story is told. The game is long enough to let things develop fairly slowly, giving the player more time to grow attached to each of its quirky, lovable protagonists.

The battle system isn’t thrilling but bosses offer a good challenge. Its graphics are very old-school; the audio is a rich collection of orchestrated themes and a few vocal songs, beautifully performed. The Playstation version’s full-motion video serves the story well and bestows emotion to scenes that would have lost their impact without the video.

Shining Force II (Genesis)

Often called the best RPG on the Sega Genesis, SFII is a tactical role-playing game, and quite different from the Final Fantasy series. While the story and in-town sequences work like any other RPG, SFII’s battles take place in a large map with varied terrain. The player moves his characters across the battlefield and engages the enemy army when in range.

It’s an easy game to win, its story is unimpressive and the anime-styled graphics are decent, but it’s the fun, unique battle system that holds everything together. Getting a new character on your team means new tactics, and forming the best possible army is riveting, if unnecessary.

FF One (NES)

How could this one not make the list? It practically created the console RPG genre! The player controls a four-member party, gives them classes and sets off to literally save a princess.

To this day, people toy with different party setups: what about an all-warrior party, or four red mages? “Challenge” parties are popular creations, such as four nearly useless thieves or four defensive white mages, and solo parties, such as one warrior or one thief, provide the ultimate challenge.

Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES)

Lufia’s storyline is the game’s main strength, with a few solid twists and some bittersweet moments along the way. The battles are turn-based but intense, and “capsule monsters” you discover can join in the fight.

Another highlight is the soundtrack. Lufia’s music exemplifies Japanese video game music, with its striking yet simple harmonies, infectious riffs, and quick tempos.

Beyond those strengths, the graphics are clean and good-looking, and your characters are pretty interesting. What’s not to like?

AD D; Pool of Radiance (NES)

The console RPG closest to actual roleplaying before Morrowind, PoR lets the player create a party, equip them and set off to do anything they like. Really, there’s a lot of freedom. You’re supposed to get contracts from city hall, but if you’d rather hang out at the inn and rough up thieves, you’re free to do so. You can even fight guards and break into houses at night, though I’ve never managed to do either successfully.

Chrono Trigger (SNES)

Remarkable in every way, I’m surprised that Chrono Trigger wasn’t ported to later systems. The graphics are excellent, and character designs were done by Akira Toriyama, of Dragonball fame. The fantasy/steampunk/time travel set is executed well.

Some puzzles and challenges are borderline ridiculous — does That Damn Rat ring a bell?

The music is gorgeous, wrenching and sad and beautiful, like Bach’s sixth cello suite. Maudlin fools everywhere must’ve gotten a little misty every time they booted this cart up.

Uncharted Waters (SNES)

Set in the early 16th century, Uncharted Waters puts you in the breeches of a young Portuguese sailor. You set out with one small merchant ship, hoping to build it to a mighty fleet.

But what kind of fleet? That’s up to you. A peaceful merchant fleet, a powerful war fleet, and a bloodthirsty pirate fleet are all possible. Uncharted Waters is incredibly open-ended, and while it has a loose, thin plot, you can freely ignore it and obsessively build your fleet.

Magic of Scheherezade (NES)

An interesting Zelda/FF/1,001 Nights hybrid, MoS is a little hard to follow. The weird, disjointed dialogue doesn’t help, nor does the hurried intro. But what does that matter? You’re a Saint beating the tar out of freaky monsters with a magic fairy at your side!

Unless you’re in regular overworld combat, that is, which is where the Zelda-style gameplay becomes familiar, but thankfully not too familiar. It’s also where the game’s trio of classes becomes important. Magicians get a wand that shoots missiles at enemies, while Fighters are better close-up combatants. Saints, well, they don’t get any fancy weapons, just the ability to walk on damage squares without being damaged. Anyone who plays MoS thinking Saints can call on gods to do their dirty work will be severely disappointed.

Other than that, it’s standard RPG fare: a journey from town to town, buy stuff, learn bits of the story and eventually rumble with the boss.

The secret of Mana (SNES)

Before the glut of MMORPGs, there was Secret of Mana. One of the only multiplayer (up to three!) RPGs on any console, it’s a fine hack-and-slash adventure. Real-time battles, augmented by a few role-playing elements, are paradoxically challenging in spite of the cute, anime-monster enemies that look so helpless.

Cruddy audio and confusing menus bring the game down from the level of Chrono Trigger, but when two friends can join you in an RPG and it’s 1994, the shortcomings are easy to overlook.

Star Ocean (SNES)

If you’ve played Star Oceans 2 or 3, you already know the unique real-time battle system. Controlling one character in the heat of combat is daunting, thrilling, and satisfying; unfortunately, the original has a fixed camera, so it’s not quite as frantic.

The storylines in Star Ocean games have always jarred me; it’s not that they are bad, but the space-traveling civilizations coming across fantasy settings is a bit hard to swallow.

All these retro RPGs do something well: Some offer intense battles, others have great storylines, and a few have gripping music and graphics, but none can be put ahead of the others, so I suggest you play them all.

Assassin’s Creed II: A Masterpiece of Video Game Creation

Sonja | April 15, 2020August 26, 2020

In many games, it’s difficult to locate historical facts that have anything in relation to the mainframe or plotline of the game itself. Moreover, there are card games that are completely different from such games and despite that such games are really popular among games. However, casino and gambling activities are illegal in Indonesia making it really difficult for players to enjoy their favorite game. This is games like Assassin’s Creed comes to the rescue.

Yet with Assassin’s Creed II, the story not only incorporates historical facts from real people, places, and events but portrays them with a very believable relish. The developers and designers behind the Assassin’s Creed series have made it possible for this action game to be educational, as well as fun to the gamers involved in playing it. The developers took real places such as Venice, Florence, Rome, and even Monteriggioni to make this a non-linear game, with many twists and turn to provide a believable, yet unbelievable plotline.

Yes. In the case of the gameplay, it is a non-linear game. And yes, there are certain points in the sequence of the storyline that the game or player will have to play from sequence of memory to memory, just so the storyline can progress alone the lines it needs to. When it comes to assassination missions and collecting treasures as well as feathers, there is a great deal of freedom when or if the player wishes to complete them at all. There are also the probabilities to improve the weapons and armor that Ezio Auditore da Firenze wears, as well as receive or purchase new ones. As in many games and as to be expected, some weapons and armor are weaker than others, while others are stronger and provide bonuses to health and protection, but can be slightly more expensive or difficult to find. The non-linear idea and presence behind the game allow a greater chance to meet different people and travel to different locations of Venice, Florence, and so on.

When it comes to storylines, there is always a need for the in-depth telling of the plotlines and the history of the characters involved, which Assassin’s Creed II provides. The storyline provides the necessary background information that a player would be interested in knowing about the main character, Ezio, and his struggle to grow into his new role as an Assassin. As well as getting revenge on those who destroyed and killed his family. The locations that the developers have Ezio’s character travel to are surprisingly historically accurate with their educational facts that allow the player to learn about each location without making it too much like an educational game while still maintaining it’s an original action-packed adventure. As with many games, there can be only one or several other characters that the main character or playable character can interact with. With Assassin’s Creed II, there are more than a few characters that Ezio can interact with, who can provide extra missions for him to complete or provide information about a current mission. Many of these secondary characters are real historical figures that have been known to have created quite a name for themselves in history. These figures include such names as Catherina Sforza, Pope Alexander VI, Leonardo da Vinci, and Niccolo Machiavelli.

As pertaining to many of the older videos of the PS1 series of video games, vocal acting was not thought of being in desperate need, but as the games and the graphics have gotten better along with the game systems, so has the need for good vocal talent. This desire is also needed for such games as Assassin’s Creed II, which has a great story to tell. Roger Craig Smith, who has a very prominent vocal part in Resident Evil 5 as Chris Redfield, is the vocal talent behind Ezio. As he was impressive as Chris Redfield, he was equally so as his Assassin’s Creed II counterpart, Ezio. When it comes to vocal acting for video games, there is not as much credit given for that talent as there is for the graphics. Graphics can make or break a game, but the same also goes for its vocal acting talents. When it comes to the believability of a game’s plotline and basic story, vocal talents have to be just as good or better than a game’s graphics to really make it a success story.

One of the most interesting aspects of this plotline was the incorporation of ancient mythology. Particularly attaining to the Roman gods and the origins of mankind. In this game, it is called The Truth as Subject Sixteen would call it. And that’s how it’s referred to throughout the game. For more information about The Truth and a more in-depth description of it, please visit the Assassin’s Creed wiki (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/The_Truth). If you wish to be surprised, then it is a surprise that can make a person think. Not on the level that this Truth could be real, but the facts that are incorporated in The Truth have historical origins, even thou this is a telling of fiction.

While the pros for Assassin’s Creed II are numerous and far too many to physically count, the cons are glaringly obvious that they are impossible to ignore. For those who have already played the game will understand this author’s confusion towards the ending of the game. There will be no spoilers here on the actually ending, thou. The ending is confusing but can be called enlightening as well. It provides some information as to why everything is happening around Ezio and Desmond Miles, the true main character behind the Assassin’s Creed games. While this information is provided to both characters by a most unexpected source, it is someone that this author was not expecting to find. And in the Vatican Vault of all places. For centuries, people have wondered what was really down there, in real life, but of course, it is very doubtful that it’s the same thing as in Assassin’s Creed II. But one could hope. For that would be an amazing discovery, even if it is unlikely.

There were doubts, even with the success of the first game, that Assassin’s Creed II could continue its success and it did. It has been able to combine education and entertainment into a game that makes it almost impossible to put the controller down once you have started playing it. For many gamers, this author included, this game was impossible to turn off until The Truth was discovered and Enzio’s story played out. That is the type of game that will always be successful. One that grabs the audience and doesn’t let go.

Crimecraft – a Persistent First Person Shooter Mmorpg

Sonja | April 15, 2020August 26, 2020

Let me start off by saying that CrimeCraft is NOT safe for players under age 18, and the ESRb wont even touch trying to rate it’s content.

That being said, Crimecraft is a great game, and a lot of fun to play. If you like games like Gunz Online, and Hellgate London, you will love Crimecraft.

Upon starting the game for the first time, and creating your character, the first thing you will see is a PvP battle. Yes, within seconds of creating your character, you are effectively turned into cannon fodder. This effectively sets the stage for the style of play you will be subjected to in CrimeCraft. If you’re not up for a fast-paced firefight as part of almost every mission, this is probably not the game for you. After that PvP battle is over, you enter Sunrise City.

As you enter the game one of Sunrise City’s finest will want to speak with you. To find him, begin walking forward from where you entered the city. You will see a police officer surveying the scene at an intersection nearby. To speak to him, walk up to him, turn to face him and left-click him. This will bring up a small conversation window.

Left-click him a second time with this small window up to open the Mission dialogue. Read the mission dialogue text, and then click Accept to take your first Mission. This mission will send you to speak to a shopkeeper in a nearby weapon shop. Enter the store, and speak to the shopkeeper, using the same combination of left-clicks you used to speak to the Police Officer.

When you speak to the shopkeeper, he will offer to complete your first mission, and then offer another. Click Complete and then Accept to take this second mission. The Shopkeeper will give you a weapon. To equip this weapon, open your character interface by pressing Tab, then in the upper bar, click on the very first icon on the top row. This will open your character window.

From your inventory in the lower right, pick up the Assault Rifle (AR), and drag it over to the empty weapon slot above your pistol. You are now armed for battle, and ready to join your first instance. To join your first match, open your interface by pressing Tab and clicking the Globe icon on the upper row , to open the map. Then, select one of the red match icons by right clicking it. This will bring up the game type selection menu. Click on your preferred game type and select join to enter the queue. When your match is ready, you will be notified of this, Press U to join the match. Enjoy the fight! Surely, you will love this game if you are fanatic shooter game category player. It may be different from pkv games, but these games share common things – they are both awesome to play. With amazing graphics, concepts and amazing gameplay, there is no doubt that you will love this game. So what are you waiting for? Go now and download this game and don’t be competitive too much. Have fun!

The Game-of-Hearts Murder

Sonja | April 6, 2020August 26, 2020

The ladies always played Hearts on Thursday evenings. The four of them had taken to dressing the parts of the four Queens. The only problem with this was that their King was one and the same guy. Yep, it was awkward, for sure.

This is how it was. Imogena always played hostess to the Hearts game, the other three Queens arriving silently in their golf carts at the main house on the big estate where Imogena lived with the King, her husband. He was a big man, a rich man, big enough and rich enough to play the part of all four kings.

The three auxiliary queens lived in small cottages on the estate, the widows of former tenants. The king had bad luck with tenants, regularly losing them to accidents with corn pickers and similar machinery. He felt responsible for their widows and allowed their continued occupancy in the cottages, charging them only nominal rents. Everyone seemed happy with the arrangement, especially Imogena who never lacked for someone to help with the house and garden or to accompany her on her many excursions, widows making so much better friends than if their husbands were alive.

The four queens had a mutual and great desire to keep the king well, happy, and, most of all, alive. That was exactly the case, and no man ever enjoyed more of the delights of life than he. Food, drink, and female companionship: he had a wonderful life. No man happier than he!

Suddenly, everything was about to change. Heat and drought caused all the crops to fail. The king’s bank went under (he was a banker as well as a farmer). The estate was going up at auction, excepting the main house and gardens. It was the evening for good-byes to the auxiliary queens, and coincidentally, it was the evening of the final game of Hearts.

It had always been the king’s habit to make a short stop at each of the three small cottages on card playing evenings for a quick “hello” before each got into her queen outfit and whisked silently the short distance to his house. This evening was no different in his view, except that it was the last. He was a bit sad at the prospect of losing all except his original queen, but, true to his character, he was philosophical about his losses. He was of an age to retire, he had enough money stashed to live comfortably, and he was developing a resistance to Viagra. All in all, he felt he was a pretty lucky man.

Isn’t he forgetting something, I can sense your wondering. And you are exactly right, he was a selfish, selfish man, and he has not taken into account the plight of the three queens who would suddenly be demoted to less than ladies in waiting, less than friends, less than, well, they would be reduced to sudden poverty: evicted from the cottages, too young for Social Security, childless and hence ineligible for Welfare, and as you no doubt are imagining, as they arrived to play the final game of hearts,

ALL THREE WERE AS MAD AS WET HENS.

Probably like you, I initially thought that each of the three out-of-luck queens would attempt in some fashion to dislodge the original queen and take her place on the throne. By “dislodge,” probably also like you, I was thinking of the permanent solution, but what would killing the original queen accomplish? In the first place, bumping her off would make it necessary to also bump off the two other obvious and nearby rivals for the throne. A bit much to attempt for a novice murderess, and in the second place, the death of the original queen provided no guarantee that the king would choose one of the three potential murderesses over the other two, no reason to believe that he would choose any of them at all. A big, rich man as he had been would most likely have more women than that!!

In fact, the three out-of-luck queens had gotten together for coffee that morning and had laid all the cards on the table. They discussed possible solutions. They came up with a marvelous plan that would ensure a happy ending for all four queens!! Can you guess what they came up with?

The queens devised a plan to commit the perfect murder. Even they, the perpetrators, would never know the identity of the murderer. Or, maybe more accurately, they would share the guilt equally. The ladies were desperate, and they were about to take desperate measures.

So, it’s evening, the king arrives home after his three dalliances with (we have neglected thus far to say) comely neighbors, and his wife, the official and legal queen (also comely, and likewise neglected to have been mentioned) is putting the final touches on her costume and make-up; the card table and a fresh deck await the players; the chilled White Zinfandel stands nearby, as do the sparkling crystal stemware and the sterling tray with the beautiful canapes.

It was the custom on Thursday evenings when the queens engaged in their Game of Hearts in the parlor for the king’s dinner to be laid in the study where week after week, he took pleasure in watching the local, national, and international news, Wheel of Fortune – his favorite game show – , then Jeopardy, only because it was on next and to which he paid little attention, and finally, his favorite reality show. A simple man, after all, is said and done, and we might conclude, worthy of our sympathy for what is about to befall him.

The occurrences on that evening were not recognized by the hostess as being different from the now-ritualized Thursday evenings. Though she believed it was to be the last of the games, everything happened the same as always. The greetings as she welcomed the three queens in their costumes, the routine of the refreshments and the playing of the game, all just as in weeks past, for years past. The visiting card players always paid their respects to their host and landlord, and this evening was no different. One by one, they gave him a small hug and a kiss on the cheek. They were out of the room before the commercial break in the local news.

Only three minutes, almost negligible soft little squeezes, which the king if he noticed at all, might have attributed to goodbyes, but only in an unconscious fashion, not enough to shake his concentration on the weather forecast and the upcoming news. Women were one thing, TV was quite another and vastly more important.

At two a.m. when the king was found to be quite dead and not revivable either by the queens, who tried their best or by the EMS ambulance team, the tiny prick in his neck disappeared in the rolls of fat, the three black widows had vanished under the furniture and the remote that short-circuited his pacemaker was never even noticed among the other similar devices on the end table. Sudden death from natural causes was declared by the coroner and the doctor, not surprising for a man of his weight and type-A personality. They said he might have lived for years, but he also could have died at any moment. An autopsy was not deemed necessary, in accordance with recent budget cuts as there was no sign of foul play.

The house was roomy, and the three extra queens were soon ensconced in separate suites, still secondary to the original queen, but happy indeed. After a short period of mourning, they entertained regularly and soon the memory of the big, rich king faded into pleasant memories. The ladies earned a little pin money by growing organic medicinal herbs in summer and making natural wreaths in winter. One of them bred Pomeranians and another kept a few free-range chickens and sold broilers. The other made custom window shades for front door lights and marketed them online.

It isn’t known if they continued to dress up and play Hearts on Thursday evenings. You can also play this game online at buktiqq with your friends and family members and enjoy it to the fullest. Besides that, there are several other games as well that you can enjoy here making it a perfect website for your gaming needs.

Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, Missouri

Sonja | April 2, 2020August 26, 2020

I went to Kansas City, MO, for a couple of Taylor Hicks’ concerts at the Ameristar Casino. When the casino came into view, I was amazed at how big it was. We pulled up under the main entrance and it was stunningly beautiful! They had these massive chandeliers outside!

When you enter the casino, you feel like you’re back outside, because they have the ceilings painted and lit like the sky. It reminded me so much of the Vegas casinos. It was decorated just breathtakingly. They have a train car right in the middle of the foyer, too! Ameristar Casino is one of the most modern casinos in Kansas City you will get qq39bet an online branch of the same that you can visit in order to have fun while staying at your home. This is just a perfect option for those who don’t like to travel to casinos on a daily basis.

It was nice to see a huge variety of restaurants. They had an old fashioned diner, an oyster bar, sports bar, and a steakhouse. Then they had fast food like Burger King, pizza places, and Cold Stone Creamery. Of the food we ate, I wasn’t too impressed with it. Prices were fairly reasonable, too. The casino also boasts a huge movie theater, as well.

The casino itself is enormous. It is on two huge floors. Of course, all of the lights and noises are just like being in Vegas. Everything is so beautiful. I’m not much of a gambler, so when the slots weren’t paying, I stopped playing after a couple of dollars!

We were there for the Taylor Hicks concert at the Ameristar’s Star Pavilion Theater. It was a great venue. There wasn’t a bad seat in the place. The first night, we were halfway back. The second night, we were in the 2nd row. A great view from every seat.

The staff at the Ameristar are outstanding and wonderfully friendly. They have the girls dressed almost like hookers, and that was the only thing I didn’t like, but whatever….that’s casino life for you. I would recommend everyone check this place out just because of how kind the staff is!

I was shocked to see they have a huge daycare center for people to bring their children. It made me kind of mad that people were there at insane hours of the evening and their kids should’ve been in bed, but that’s just my opinion.

The foyer of the check-in area for the hotel was breathtaking! Lots of fabric drapes and super contemporary furniture everywhere. I loved it! We didn’t stay at the casino, so I didn’t get to see what the rooms look like, but from just seeing the whole casino, I’m sure the rooms are beautiful.

If you’re looking for a fun place to go and check out in Kansas City, I would highly recommend the Ameristar! I give this casino 3 1/2 our of 5 Tiaras on the Amy Gayle scale.qq

Horse Racing at Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, PA

Sonja | March 28, 2020August 26, 2020

If you love horse racing then you will really enjoy visiting the Presque Isle Downs and Casino off of Interstate 90. The first season for horse racing at this venue began this year and though it has ended until the following year you will want to know a little bit more about it all. This great, horse racing site has a mile-long track and quite a great viewing area. You will find that there is no admittance fee and that betting is totally up to you. You can bet as low as $2 and go up from there or you don’t have to bet at all. With all different types of betting to pick from you will find it a very enjoyable outing. You also have the option of online betting through 카지노 가입 쿠폰 which is a completely safe way to bet on such horse races. Moreover, you will get the very best offers and deals there making this a perfect online portal for betting.

Watching the horse races is exciting so bring along your camera and binoculars so that you can keep tabs on your pick as they go around the track. With the programs that they sell you will be able to learn all about your favorite horses and the jockeys.

When you are planning a trip to the racetrack you don’t have to leave the kids at home, unless you want to. They are permitted to watch the races, however, they are not able to go into the casino. Be sure that you understand that when you are planning to visit. Many children enjoy watching the races just as much as the adults do so consider bringing them along when you are going.

Don’t worry if you are visiting the racetrack and the weather isn’t cooperating, there are indoor places to watch the race from and also a nice sitting area with a cover. In cooler evenings you will be able to stand by an outdoor heater and keep warm. There are bars for you to order drinks from and food if you want to get a meal. Visiting the Presque Isle Downs and Casino has now become even more interesting with the horse races. Then, after they are over go in and visit all the great slot machines and the virtual blackjack tables. You will find that there are penny machines, nickel, dime, quarter and one-dollar machines that you can pick from. The virtual blackjack tables start at $25 a bet and the card dealers seem as real as a person. It is interesting to watch, too.

You are sure to have a great time when you visit this casino that is located in Erie, PA. Remember that you might have to park further away than you would like to on a busy night, but the shuttle service is awesome. There are always shuttles going to and from the building and racetrack so that you won’t have to walk if you don’t want to. Make the Presque Isle Downs and Casino a mush when you are visiting the Erie area. It is quite a wonderful place to visit. Make the very most of your experience when you are there.

Poker Hand Nicknames: Pocket Pairs

Sonja | February 15, 2020March 11, 2020

If you ever listen to professionals talking at a poker table, you may get lost very quickly. You may hear someone say something about ducks, then another person talk about snowmen. Little do you know they are talking simple poker jargon. These, along with many others, are nicknames given to a combination of poker hands. These nicknames can be derived from the way the cards look, their symbol is cultures, or a historical event. In any case, here are some nicknames that you may hear about. Please note that the following list only pertains to pocket pairs. There are dozens of other nicknames given, but this article will only address pocket pairs.

Pocket 2’s – Nickname: Ducks. The nickname ducks were given to this pair because of the shape the number two makes. It resembles the way a duck looks when in the water. This nickname also could reflect the phrase ‘like a sitting duck’, as this hand is easy to get in trouble with other player’s hands have hit the flop.

Pocket 3’s – Nicknames: Crabs, Treys. Threes have two nicknames. First, crabs was given to it for its appearance. The number three looks like it has pinchers, like crabs do. It also has the nickname of treys because of the slight variation of the word threes.

Pocket 4’s – Nicknames: Magnum, Sailboats. The nickname sailboats were given to this pair because of their appearance (the fours look like sails). The nickname Magnum was also given to this pair in reflection of Dirty Harry’s gun, which was a .44 magnum pistol.

Pocket 5’s – Nicknames: Speed Limit, Presto. The nickname speed limit is simple to figure out – many highways have the speed limit of fifty-five miles per hour. The nickname presto came from a couple of miraculous wins with this hand, and years later, people still retain the magic in this hand my calling it ‘Presto’.

Pocket 6’s – Nicknames: Boots, Route 66. Again, these nicknames are simple to figure out. Route 66 is a nickname due to the cards making the number 66, and the nickname boots is for this hand as the numbers look like boots.

Pocket 7’s – Nicknames: Walking Sticks, Sunset Strip. The nickname walking sticks are used as the numbers resemble walking sticks. The title ‘Sunset Strip’ is a reflection of the television show.

Pocket 8’s – Nicknames: Snowmen, Piano Keys. The nickname snowmen are used as the number eight looks like the beginning of a snowman and the nickname piano keys are used as there are eighty-eight keys on a piano.

Pocket 9’s – Nicknames: Phil Hellmuth, Wayne Gretzky. These nicknames pay tribute to famous people – Wayne Gretzky wore the number 99 and Phil Hellmuth won the 1989 World Series of Poker with this hand.

Pocket 10’s – Nickname: Dimes. This hand is called dimes because the number ten is also referred to as a dime.

Pocket Jacks – Nickname: (Fish)hooks. Because of how they look, pocket jacks are referred to as hooks or fishhooks.

Pocket Queens – Nickname: Ladies. This hand is called ladies because this hand consists of holding two card with women on it.

Pocket Kings – Nicknames: King Kong, Cowboys. This hand is called King Kong because of the lettering (KK) and cowboys because the player is holding two cards with the strongest male photos.

Pocket Aces – Nicknames: Rockets, American Airlines, Bullets, Snake Eyes. Call them whatever you want, they are nice to have. Some nicknames are understandable (American Airlines because of the lettering), but others have been made up to signify the importance of this hand.

Online Poker Pro Says “COME on DOWN “

Sonja | February 10, 2020March 11, 2020

Well, It’s a Sunday morning, it’s cold outside and I’ve just joined AC and thought I would add a few insights I’ve learned from playing thousands and thousands of poker hands online over the past few years. I just read some of the more current articles written by some very knowledgeable players and for the most part I agree to what they are saying and I use some of the technique’s they talk about all the time. Never forget the basics. Once learned, it becomes the basis for your play and a place to go back to when things go wrong, and they will, more often than you would like. My game is sit-n-go tourniments and I earn my living from the new, weak and stupid players that inhabit the online casino’s on a daily basis. If you fall into one of these catagories then DO NOT READ THE REST OF THIS ARTICLE!! Go directly to your favorite online casino and spend, spend and spend some more, I want your money. But just in case you want to keep some of your money then here is a starting list to go by.

TIP Number one:

Read, read and then read some more about poker. A good place to start is Doyle Brunson’s ” Super System” , and you must understand that reading is good but applying is hard. I read about ten books before I was totally lost in opening hands to theory to odds and when you reach that point YOU MUST GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR FAVORITE ONLINE CASINO, DEPOSIT A THOUSAND DOLLARS AND START PLAYING. I want your money but on the other hand just go out and spend, spend, spend and don’t become informed , I want your money. Being armed with a little knowledge is very profitable for me. But, let’s say your more inclined not to do that, so here’s the next step.

Tip Number Two:

Decide what kind of poker you want to play. If your going to play Holdem then decide on either ring games or tourniments. Don’t play both at the same time while learning, that’s a formula for disaster.

Tip Number Three:

Play only free games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t deposit your money yet, although that’s what I would like you to do but instead pick out a couple of online rooms and register to play and start the learning process. Play at least two different rooms but I suggest at least three to five rooms. Why? Because the play will differ from one room to another.

Tip Number Four:

Opening Hands. Go to the poker forum and sign up and search for opening hands and there are many articles about the subject. Remember that opening hands for ring games are somewhat different from opening hands for tourniments.

Tip Number Five:

Now, FORGET WHAT YOU’VE READ start playing and use the opening hand list you obtained from the poker forum. Please note that when you sign up at an online casino make sure you ask for your hand histories. Poker Stars has a great HH program that sends your HH right to your computer. This is a very important when starting out. Play a few tourniments or spend the next ten hours sitting at a ring game then quit for that session. Open up your hand history in your computer and analyze your winning and loosing hands and find out why you lost or won. If you don’t know ask. Go to the poker forum and ask they have many great players and a lot of articles about all sorts of poker subjects.

Tip Number Six:

Now here is where it gets a little dicey. How many hands do you think you need to play before you are ready to play for money? I asked that question to several of my online poker friends and we all agree that 30 to 50 thousand hands is in the area you need to play. Because it takes time to see what you are doing wrong and read on the subject and then to apply your new knowledge to make it works for you. Now it get even a little more dicier. Remember, the regular free game players don’t care how they play. It’s only play money . I see these comments all the time. So it’s a loose type of game and you must learn how to use your new tools against these players without getting caught up in their style of play.

Now that you have gained some knowledge of the game and you want to play for money, start slow and low. You need at least 100 times the big blind to withstand the losses you will have. One interesting thing that I have found is that at most levels of money play the stupids are still there spending their money so try not to be one of them. Learn and apply. Only try new levels after you are winning more than loosing in your current level of play and remember that 90% of online players are loosers. Only 10% make money.

One last thing. The five community cards very seldom repeat in the next hand. If you have ace, ten, nine, five, three in the community cards in one hand they very seldom repeat individually in the next hand. So if your delt an ace rag as your hole cards in the next hand and you remember that an ace was in the previous community cards, chances are that the ace wont repeat. I have saved a lot of money following that rule. If you get ace king as your hole cards and you remember that an ace king were part of the last community cards, play with caution. 90% of the time the ace and/or king will not repeat. And finally, don’t try to play like the pros who give advise, you can’t! Use your knowledge and formulate your own style. It takes time and patience but the rewards are there.

Luck In Poker: A Different Perspective

Sonja | February 5, 2020August 13, 2020

It is understandable why the majority of poker players are so incredulous toward the luck component in poker. In all other sports we are conditioned to be declared the victor if we outplay our opponents. It is an anomaly when marked superiority does not result in victory.

There is no sport where you can find a person on the street that will beat the best in the world. If you played tennis with Rafael Nadal, you might not get one winner in three sets. Sit down with Phil Ivey on the poker table, however, and you will win hands. Poker players need to abandon the sense of entitlement that may come with advanced skills. That worked in other sports and games, but in poker you are at the mercy of luck.

Imagine if the principles that governed poker were applied to some different sports:

Basketball

A good basketball team trounces a below-average team 86-43. That is by any reasonable measure a show of utter superiority. You would think the other team would be hanging their heads, but it’s not over yet! Now they’re going to have a drawing. 129 tickets are thrown into a bucket, 86 of which belong to the winning team, and 43 belonging to the losing team.

Somebody reaching into the bucket and pulling out a ticket will now determine the winner. 43 tickets out 129 are not bad odds. This is the same scenario any player faces as a robust 2-1 favorite in a poker hand. It would be insane if the winning basketball team would have to expect to lose 1 out of these 3 games they won by a blowout. But as a poker player you have to accept this as part of the game.

Boxing

A world-class boxer dominates his less-skilled, inexperienced foe, clearly winning the fight. The judges all agree he won 10 out 12 rounds. The losing boxer prepares to leave the ring to ice his wounds, but wait! We’re going to have a little raffle first. 12 pieces of paper go into a hat, 10 belonging to the winner and two to the loser. The rightful victor will probably win, but how many of these situations can he expect to win consecutively?

A poker player holding pocket aces against an opponent with pocket fives is in even worse statistical shape than the aforementioned boxer. In a no-limit poker tournament, where you can lose all your chips in one hand, these situations will be plentiful. Yet you may continue to feel indignant when you lose. You outplayed you opponent. Maybe you skillfully devised an intricate trap that your opponent fell right into. That still does not entitle you to anything in this game. It only puts you in a better position to win.

Final Words

Poker is not chess. In chess, you outplay your opponent conclusively and you win. It’s simple. In poker, there are two filters which results are run through. First is the skill aspect. This will only determine who will have the statistical advantage before the results are run through the filter of luck. There are many times when poker players use skill to cripple their opposition, and maximize how much they win from a person when they have the best hand with no cards to come. The majority of big action, however, does not unfold in that manner. You may have gotten your money in with the best hand, but with cards to come, it can feel like it’s better to be lucky than good sometimes.
